There are also some designs in the drive. For 2019 we didn't have all the marketing documents we might have wanted. All we had for 2019 was a Facebook cover and an Instagram post. For next year I suggest making a video which can be like a semester-long project to make it in time for giving day 2020.

Giving day is a phenomenal opportunity to raise funds for the bike team and gain some brand visibility at the same time. Marketing and awareness are paramount to success at giving day. Giving day has a couple of parts including making posts etc, sending emails, etc. Giving Day usually takes place on pi day 3/14.

Design and Marketing Collateral

For Giving Day 2019 we used Canva to create designs. Its really intuitive and requires little to no actual design skill. The team has a Canva account with a couple of saved designs from this year.

There are also some designs in the drive. For 2019 we didn't have all the marketing documents we might have wanted. All we had for 2019 was a Facebook cover and an Instagram post. For next year I suggest making a video which can be like a semester-long project to make it in time for giving day 2020.

The Social Media Campaign should also be heavier with more frequent posts on all platforms.

Emails

Emails are paramount to giving day as it is the way we directly reach out to our potential donors. This year we reach out both to Alumni and past donors. We sent everyone an email which is available in the Giving Day Folder under Business.

The Donor List of the last two years is also stored there email everyone on the list. It is also a good idea to email alumni. This semester I emailed them just by the slack and their Cornell ID, but over the next semester, I will actually try and develop a comprehensive list of our Alumni and their contact details.

For Giving Day three emails should ideally be sent. One a week in advanced telling people about Giving Day. One two days before reminding them. And one on the day wishing them a happy pi and giving day with a small donation request at the bottom.

The Giving Day Page

This year we, unfortunately, couldn't edit the giving day page since it closed slightly before I joined the team. Next year we should edit it to make it more sensible and cater to our actual needs.

Proposed Timeline for Giving day

T-Three weeks: Ensure the Video is complete and upload it on to social media and the website. Start work on the giving day page.
